It just doesn’t get much better

Unless of course it was June and the Celts, Bruins and Red Sox were winning. But it is the middle of April and the Bruins beat the Canadiens in a playoff game, the Celtics are the top seed in the NBA playoffs, and the Red Sox beat the Yankees In the Bronx.

The B’s didn’t just beat the Canadiens- they pummeled them 5-1, the 1st time the B’s have ever beaten Montreal in game 5 when trailing 3 games to 1. Montreal’s 20 year old goalie Carey Price was wrong and the B’s Phil Kessel who was benched the last 3 games scored tonight’s game tieing goal. Game 6 is  Saturday night in what will be a wild Boston Garden.

You probably didn’t know this but Governor Deval Patrick today hosted a pre-playoff rally for the Celtics at the State House. Not many people did so they didn’t hear the Governor wish good luck to “Doc Rivers, Leon Powe and Brian, and welcome to Jo Jo White”. That Brian is Brian Scalabrine and the Gov must have looked at his last name and quickly skipped right over it. The Governor’s quick decision was noticed by most of the only 200 people on hand including Scalabrine himself who tried to cover for the Governor by saying that they were on a 1st name basis. Nice try  ..I hope all the Celtics show up for the next rally at the State House where a huge Celtics banner now hangs in front.

And last, but not necessarily least- the Red Sox, behind Manny Ramirez’s 2 Homers, pounded the Yankees 7-5 to put them alone in 1st place a game up on the Yanks. And , believe it nor not, Yankee pitcher Kyle Farnsworth threw a pitch behind Manny Ramirez after Manny had gone deep twice. Both teams were warned and their was no retribution. Unfortuntely The 2 teams don’t face off again July. Don’t worry we’ll save the tape.

The only way life could be any better in April in New England is if it was 75 degrees tomorrow.
