Lil’ Prophets

(7:56 remaining in the 3rd) Lil’ Phunk only comes out to dance when it’s a “good” timeout, and that’s what this one is. Kevin Garnett knocked down a couple of jumpers and put down a big slam to stake the Celtics to a 52-46 lead. But the Pistons are a lot like the Spurs… always lurking close, and before you know it, they’ve taken the lead. Let’s see if the Celtics can hold off that type of late surge in this one.

(5:55 remaining in the 3rd) The Celtics could be in business here. Rasheed Wallace just got called for his 3rd foul, despite looking like he got a clean block on Perkins. Perk made one of the free throws to give the Celtics a 55-46 lead. Detroit is looking seriously disjointed on offense right now (and not going for any offense rebounds), so a lead over 10 could hold up.

(2:39 remaining in the 3rd) Sorry, what? I can’t hear you. They just showed Belichick on CelticVision for the first time. He waved, and earned a big “Belichick!” chant.

And the 3rd quarter comes to an end with a HUGE three by Eddie House. The crowd is going wild… 69-57 Celtics, and the way Detroit has played offensively in the second half, they are not coming back.
