(8:50 to play in the half) Here’s that Laker surge I was talking about. They took a 29-22 lead on a Sasha Vujacic three. And then PJ Brown got into it with Jordan Farmar fighting for a rebound. PJ (who is twice Farmar’s size) ripped the ball away from him and gave the young point guard the business. Both players were quickly separated, and both received technical fouls.

(7:10 to play in the quarter) Kevin Garnett still hasn’t made a basket, at least 0-4 by my count (no running stats here in LA and the internet is slooooooooooow). A big three by Jordan Farmar put the Lakers up 34-25 and the crowd (spurred on by bizarrely old school organ music) is getting loud. Oh, and KG just made his first hoop, a big finish to an alley oop from Ray Allen. 34-27 as we take a TV timeout.
