Favre joins Jets-Pats rivalry

The AFC East just got a whole lot more interesting with the trading of Brett Favre to the New York Jets. In case you didn’t have the Pats-Jets games circled on your calender-September 14th at the Meadowlands and Thursday night November 13th at Gillette Stadium (on Channel 5, by the way, sure we are happy about the trade).

Patriots-Jets has always been a good rivalry picking up even more passion the last few years with Eric Mangini’s defection and then Spygate and now add Favre to this match-up. Favre today was called the greatest NFL player to play the quarterback position by former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer. Wait, I know he is a 2-time MVP but he has won just 1 Super Bowl. Favre may not even be the greatest quarterback in his 4 team AFC East Division. You see there is Miami’s John Beck, Buffalo’s JP Losman and, oh yah Brady.

The soon to be 39 year old Favre is going to be in for a rude awakening in the AFC. 2 of his 1st 3 games this season are against the Patriots and at San Diego. The Patriots move to sign former Carolina (NFC) head coach Dom Capers is looking smarter and smarter.
