1st place finally

How DO you explain last night’s home run derby?

To show you exactly how incredible it was-Mike Lowell took time out from talking about off season surgery on his torn hip labram to hit a home run, which followed a home run by David Ortiz, and preceded home runs by Justin Bay, Jason Varitek, Kevin Youkilis, and Jacoby Ellsbury. 4 of those home runs coming off The Rays ace lefty Scott Kazmir who saw his ERA go from 2.99 to 3.50, in just 3 innings. How do you explain that? (doubtful that it’s a tired arm since Kazmir is 47th in the league in innings pitched)

Is it the strain of a pennant race finally catching up with the inexperienced Rays? The young Rays are an alarming 4 and 9 so far in September, and 2 of those wins were against the Red Sox last week at fenway. If Experience really does mean that much, which it appears that it does, then start preparing for the AL East Division Champion Red Sox (tho right now they are in a virtual tie for 1st with the Rays) to host the Chicago White Sox in the 1st round of the playoffs starting Wednesday Oct 1st at Fenway
