Francona on Beckett

Red Sox manager Terry Francona just said that Josh Beckett is not a lock to pitch game 3, but then qualified the statement by saying that he wasn’t sure if he himself (Francona) was a lock for Sunday night’s game.

Francona talked to Beckett after todays long toss session and said that Beckett felt good but his side session is tomorrow and Francona will know for sure if Beckett is a go for game 3 after Beckett’s sessison tomorrow.

Francona also said that he feels very good about the health of JD Drew, talking to Drew after yesterdays workout. Francona didn’t sound as sure about Lowell, but Lowell told him he felt like he could go and when the World Series MVP says that, you trust him.
