Are You Kidding Me?

Haverhill native and Northeastern grad ™ Carlos Pena just smacked a 2-run homer into the right field seats, driving in the unstoppable BJ Upton, who hit a single.

That’s the third straight game Pena has homered in this series, tying the ALCS record, set by Bernie Williams for the Yankees in 2001. I’m not sure he’s going to get a chance to break it in this series.

So of course, Evan Longoria just launched one into the Monster Seats… and a fan threw it back.

That’s the fourth straight game Longoria has homered in this series, BREAKING the record Pena just tied! That ties the overall LCS record set by Carlos Beltran with Houston in 2004.

The Rays have now hit 13 home runs in this series… breaking the record set by the 2003 Red Sox, and they did it in just four and a third games.

5-0 Rays in the third.
