Lynchie Gets Something Off His Chest

Can’t help thinking that this series turned in the bottom of the 5th inning of game two. The Sox had just cranked out three homers in the top of the fifth to take a 6-5 lead. Josh Beckett was allowed to start the inning and by the time it was over the Rays had regained the lead and haven’t trailed once since. Shades of the stolen base by Dave Roberts in the 2004 ALCS vs.Yankees – that play turned that series around, the fifth inning of game two infused confidence into the fabric of every member of the Rays and they have played with unrivaled confidence since.
