You may not have noticed on TV, but in order to create more courtside seats, the beat writers and the radio broadcast team have been moved above the tunnel the Celtics enter from.
That means one of the more humorous pre-game rituals here at the Garden is no more.
It used to be that Kevin Garnett would come over to the scorer’s table, apply powder to his hands, and slap them in Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell’s face. Max, ever the comedian, started putting on a variety of hospital gowns and barber shop smocks to protect himself from Garnett’s powder bath.
Now Max is out of harm’s way, and KG is out one of his favorite rituals.
